OUR SERVICES

Fractional CFO & CFO Advisory Senior finance leadership, on a schedule that fits

Without hiring a full-time CFO, you get a disciplined monthly rhythm of management reporting, cash visibility, budget coordination and decision support.

What is a fractional CFO?

A fractional CFO provides chief financial officer leadership on an agreed number of days or hours, for companies that need senior finance capability but are not yet ready for a full-time CFO. The role turns accounting output into decision-ready information and helps management set, track and measure its financial priorities.

Prime Numeris works alongside your existing team. After each month-end close we interpret the management report, refresh the cash and working capital view, coordinate budgeting and forecasting, and prepare the financial agenda for management meetings. This is not bookkeeping or tax compliance; it is a management layer built on top of your accounting.

Who is it for?

  • Scaling companies Businesses whose revenue and headcount are growing while finance is still limited to bookkeeping.
  • Family-owned and partner-led businesses Companies that want to give shareholders and management regular, transparent financial information.
  • Companies preparing for funding Management teams that need consistent numbers for bank or partner discussions.
  • Companies between CFOs Businesses that need experienced cover until a permanent CFO is in place.
  • Typical sectors Manufacturing, wholesale and retail, services, technology and project-based businesses.

COMMON CHALLENGES

What problems does a fractional CFO solve?

Numbers arrive late and scattered

Monthly results reach management weeks after close, spread across spreadsheets and without commentary.

Profitable on paper, short of cash

The P&L shows a profit, but collections, inventory and payment terms keep cash tight.

A budget nobody tracks

The annual budget is prepared but never compared with actuals, so it stops being a management tool.

Decisions made on instinct

Pricing, hiring and major spending decisions are taken without quantifying their financial impact.

Unprepared for lenders and shareholders

Analyses and projections for financing discussions are put together at the last minute.

Frequently asked questions

How is CFO advisory different from accounting services?

Accounting keeps the books compliant. CFO advisory turns those records into management information and focuses on reporting, cash, budgeting and decision support. Bookkeeping and tax filings are outside the scope.

How many days a week does a fractional CFO work?

It depends on the size and needs of the business. Scope, monthly days or hours and deliverables are agreed in writing after the initial conversation.

Does CFO advisory include your other services?

Budgeting and forecasting work (FP&A) is part of CFO advisory and runs within the monthly management cycle. Project-type work such as IFRS/TFRS conversion, building a costing system or restructuring is scoped separately when needed.

How do you work with our existing finance team?

We work with your team rather than replace it: the close calendar, report format and responsibilities are agreed together, so the team can increasingly run the process itself.

When should we hire a full-time CFO?

When the size of the finance team, transaction volume and the need for day-to-day financial decisions grow, a full-time CFO may be the right step. We can support the role definition and the handover.

How is our company data protected?

Data is shared only within the engagement and with authorised people. Confidentiality terms are set out in the engagement letter.
